About the role

The Medical Assistant role involves providing patient care and performing clerical and environmental duties in a multi-specialty clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake
• Collect specimens
• Prepare exam rooms
• Chart patient information
• Relay instructions
• Schedule appointments
• Verify insurance
• Maintain infection control standards
• Support clinical procedures such as vital signs, injections, minor surgeries, phlebotomy, lab tests, and EKGs
• Adhere to legal scope of practice

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program
• Active BLS certification
• Phlebotomy training/license
• At least one year of recent medical office experience

Preferred Skills

• Strong communication
• Organization
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC)
• Ability to handle stress
