About the role

Bay Area Foot Care is a leading podiatry practice in the Bay Area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles get back to enjoying the activities they love. We have 15 convenient locations in the East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, and Peninsula. Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person
• Place patients in the exam rooms
• Take vital signs of patients
• Assist and set up for examination, treatment, and procedures
• Keep accurate patient files
• Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
• Maintain HIPAA Requirements
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
• Customer service skills
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
• EMR Experience; Athena experience is a plus

Pay

$23.50 - $25.00 per hour
