Medical Assistant Float

About the role

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Houston, Texas. This role floats to Clear Lake, Beaumont, Memorial City, Katy, and Spring Woodlands, Texas. This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM; weekend rotation in Clear Lake, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Perform a high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedures
• Assist with HSGs as needed
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicate physician orders and instructions
• Provide pre and post op education
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service
• Administrative tasks, prior authorizations, etc.

Requirements

• Strong phlebotomy skills
• Completion of a formal MA program
• Background in women's health preferred
• Strong patient orientation and be a team player
• Professionalism and strong customer service skills
