Medical Assistant - Family Practice-Royal Oak - Full Time

About the role

The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of the provider and nursing leadership to provide a range of administrative and clinical support services.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms.
• Obtaining medical histories.
• Measuring and recording vital signs.
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assisting providers during examinations and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of clinical skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Epic (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a clinical externship (160 hours minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without an externship but with at least one year of clinical experience.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with at least five years of experience.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience.

Schedule

• Monday: Shift hours vary and may extend until 8:00 PM.
• Tuesday – Friday: Shift hours generally fall between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Every second Saturday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
