Medical Assistant - Fam Med Kokomo West

About the role

The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with patient visits, procedures, laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes. They will also participate in Network quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use
• Manage an efficient flow of the provider's caseload
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Requirements

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
• Certification as a Medical Assistant required within six months of hire
