About the role
Supports providers and ensures seamless patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing charts, including PDMP reports and necessary consents
- Aiding in patient discharge and providing after-visit summaries
- Cleaning and restocking exam rooms
- Performing procedures such as EKGs, injections, vaccines, and ear irrigations
- Completing controlled medication tasks
- Training new Medical Assistants and contributing to special projects
- Handling complex phone calls
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment
- Accurately documenting in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Managing clinical tasks including prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription support
- Contributing to daily team flow
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Room patients, obtain vitals, medical history, and allergy/asthma updates
- Provide training to new Medical Assistants and contribute to special projects
- Handle complex phone calls requiring skilled communication and decision-making
- Flexibility and teamwork are essential for taking on additional responsibilities as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment
- Accurately document in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Manage clinical tasks including prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription support
- Contribute to daily team flow, supporting both patients and fellow staff
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA
- Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple providers
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Qualifications
