About the role

The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity within Mass General Brigham, dedicated to providing high-quality, low-cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This role supports the WDH Head and Neck Specialty located at 361 High Street, Somersworth, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

  • Takes vital signs, documents patient information, schedules appointments, and manages patient flow.
  • Interviews patients to obtain medical information, measures vital signs, weight, and height, and records information in the patient's medical record.
  • Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, and orders and organizes educational materials.
  • Prepares necessary equipment for healthcare providers, assists with disinfection and sterile processing, and performs phlebotomy if competent.
  • Maintains inventory of immunizations and checks expiration dates, provides immunizations (as applicable), and improves appropriate departmental quality initiatives.
  • Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities, and facilitates their learning through onboarding training.
  • Supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required.
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
  • Logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Time management and ability to manage others' time.

Pay Range
