Responsibilities
- Assist with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.
- Absorb and relay patient histories during initial consultations.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
- Assists with examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
- Manage and organize the medical office's inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one of the following: A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program, Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience, Military Medic training, EMT-P (Paramedic) training, or Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
Preferences
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
