Medical Assistant (Clinical Care Coordinator I) - FPG Laryngology, Sarasota

About the Role

Provide patient care according to age-specific population needs and assist in the management of patient care in a procedure-heavy Laryngology office under the direct supervision of a provider. This is a fast-paced environment ideal for a team player.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or certification as an EMT.
• Experienced medical assistants with a minimum of one to two years of experience who hold certification from an agency not listed above, or who are uncertified, must register with one of the accepted agencies for MA certification and schedule a test date within six months of hire. Certification must be received and presented to HR within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification; if not currently certified, must be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate (copy or photo required prior to start).

Qualifications

• Preferred: one year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician’s office practice.
• Preferred: experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
• Preferred: demonstrated self-direction and initiative.
• Preferred: knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
