Medical Assistant Clinical and Surgical

About the Role

The Surgical Medical Assistant will assist providers and the clinical team with surgical and procedural care while helping ensure patients receive safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgical and interventional pain procedures.
• Assist providers during procedures and examinations as directed.
• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure necessary instruments and materials are available for procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Obtain and document vital signs and relevant patient information.
• Support pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and patient privacy protocols.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of surgical and clinical supplies.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other team members.
• Perform additional clinical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous surgical or procedural Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Experience in pain management, ambulatory surgery, or a procedural setting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of clinical and surgical protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• Relevant certification or credentialing preferred, as applicable.
