About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant supports patient care through tasks such as accurate data entry for registration and insurance verification. They demonstrate good judgment and effective communication with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and third-party payers, maintaining a professional and caring demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering quality medical care.
- Accurate data entry of charges, patient registration, and account updates.
- Verifying insurance and recording relevant statistics.
- Scheduling appointments, answering phones, updating providers, and informing patients about benefits.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
