Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomy Technician (English/Spanish)

About the role

We are currently hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist (National Certified Phlebotomy Technician) to support our Bronx-based family health center. The position requires a Medical Assistant Certificate/Training Program Completed AND a National Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Process blood draws, collects specimens and processes lab orders.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, medical history and accurately records in medical records.
• Completes referrals and discharges patients.
• Aids providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
• Aid in provider treatments.
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance and demographic information.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Certificate/Training School and National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
• Bilingual Spanish/English is REQUIRED
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Computer literacy
• Training in phlebotomy and patient vitals
• Responsible individual who genuinely wants to support our patients

Qualifications

• Minimum: $23.00/hour ; Maximum: $23.00/hour ; Additional $1,500/annum in differential pay
• Onsite in the Bronx, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
