About the role

A Medical Assistant provides care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, focusing on acute and chronic needs. Responsibilities include clear communication with patients via various means and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the clinician, gather information relevant to the patient's visit and condition.
  • Communicate effectively with patients through phone and in-person interactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient care.
  • Show attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed promptly.

Requirements

  • Current American Heart Association (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or current active and in good standing RN/LPN license in Colorado.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers.
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Computer literacy in EMR systems and relevant software.
  • Preferred national MA certification from AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or AAMA.
  • Manual dexterity for handling complex and delicate equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment.
  • Driving ability for some roles.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a BLS for healthcare providers, one of the preferred certifications, and demonstrated computer skills.
  • Must be able to see, read, and assess patient needs, communicate verbally, and handle patient care.
  • May require occasional lifting and moving of patients, navigating crowded spaces, and standing for long periods.
  • Requires driving ability for some roles.
