A Medical Assistant provides care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, focusing on acute and chronic needs. Responsibilities include clear communication with patients via various means and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the clinician, gather information relevant to the patient's visit and condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients through phone and in-person interactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient care.
- Show attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed promptly.
Requirements
- Current American Heart Association (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or current active and in good standing RN/LPN license in Colorado.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Computer literacy in EMR systems and relevant software.
- Preferred national MA certification from AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or AAMA.
- Manual dexterity for handling complex and delicate equipment.
- Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment.
- Driving ability for some roles.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a BLS for healthcare providers, one of the preferred certifications, and demonstrated computer skills.
- Must be able to see, read, and assess patient needs, communicate verbally, and handle patient care.
- May require occasional lifting and moving of patients, navigating crowded spaces, and standing for long periods.
- Requires driving ability for some roles.
