About the role
We’re looking for a Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team in Buford, GA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, supporting in-office procedures, and working in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You’ll work closely with providers while helping ensure an efficient and organized clinic environment.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (4 PM on Fridays)

Responsibilities
- Room patients and complete intake documentation, including medical history updates
- Obtain and record vital signs while preparing patients for provider evaluation
- Aid in maintaining patient flow throughout the clinic day
- Prepare and break down procedure rooms, instruments, and treatment trays
- Handle, label, and route pathology specimens in accordance with insurance guidelines
- Respond to patient questions in person and over the phone, escalating when appropriate
- Work through EMR task lists, nurse line messages, and patient follow-ups in a timely manner
- Maintain and sterilize instruments while tracking logs for cleaning and calibration
- Monitor supply levels, restock inventory, and remove expired materials
- Aid in accurate EMR documentation, including scribing as needed
- Assist providers with administration of local anesthetics when appropriate
- Ensure timely handling of calls, faxes, and internal communication
- Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for visits
- Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
- Ability to triage patient concerns and prioritize tasks effectively
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic coding (CPT/ICD-10)
- Comfortable using EMR systems and standard office equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day
- Team-oriented mindset with a patient-focused approach
- Willingness to travel between nearby offices if needed
- Licensure/Certifications/Education: High School Diploma or GED required, completion of a Medical Assistant or CNA program, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or patient care setting preferred, Dermatology experience is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and maintaining balance
- Regular use of hands and fine motor skills for clinical tasks
- Clear communication, including speaking and listening in person and by phone
- Handling of medical supplies, paperwork, and equipment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
