Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed
    • Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting
    • 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
  • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Licenses/Certifications: NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.
