Job Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Auxiliary tasks during patient visits
- Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens as instructed
- Administer medications and injections under supervision
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation
- Maintain nursing stations and examination areas in accordance with OSHA standards
- Answer and screen phone calls
- Interact courteously and professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Perform X-Ray and EKG (training provided)
- Assist Occupational Medicine staff with urine specimens as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Six months of related experience in a medical setting
- Must obtain and maintain BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong charting/documentation skills
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Bilingual skills are a plus
