Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA-C or MA-R) to support daily clinical operations and deliver high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting providers with patient intake, clinical documentation, care coordination, and administrative duties while ensuring an efficient clinic workflow and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits by:
- Obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Recording chief complaints
- Performing medication reconciliation
- Updating patient medical and health history in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Manage electronic in-basket tasks, including:
- Triaging patient messages
- Processing medication refill requests
- Routing patient calls and messages to the appropriate care team members
- Accurately document patient encounters and ensure timely closure of medical records according to departmental workflows.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms while adhering to infection prevention and control standards.
- Provide patient education within the scope of practice and reinforce provider instructions as appropriate.
- Support efficient patient flow by proactively communicating with providers and clinical staff to minimize patient wait times and optimize clinic operations.
- Perform administrative support duties, including:
- Scanning and uploading documents into the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Assisting with paperwork completion
- Processing medication prior authorizations
- Supporting other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) certification is required.
- Experience working in a clinical or ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Experience using EPIC or a similar electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a high level of patient care and professionalism.

Schedule
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 5 days per week
Location: Seattle, WA 98104
Contract: 3+ month assignment (possibility of conversion or extension)
