Qualifications and requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent required
- Current Montana CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification
- Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 60 days after hire date
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Responsibilities
- Supports those in our facilities who interface with and provide care to our patients and community members
- Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments
- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting
- Maintains examination areas
- Aids in keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly
Skills
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Works under the supervision of a Physician or Nurse, assisting with performing patient assessments and treatments. Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas. Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
