Medical Assistant

Duties & Responsibilities

• Aid in maintaining patient flow while escorting patients to and from exam/procedure rooms
• Coordinate and implement plans for patient care
• Record reason for visit and related patient information for practitioner review
• Provide a comfortable and safe environment
• Act as a liaison between the physician and patient
• Perform and record: vital signs, height, weight, and conduct a controlled substance pill count
• Collect and label specimens, complete requisitions, and route them appropriately
• Maintain order and cleanliness of examination rooms; stock rooms and ensure supplies are maintained
• Set up and prepare equipment/supplies for procedure use
• Adhere to safety and infection control practices
• Facilitate diagnostic testing and schedule future appointments
• Prepare for and participate in pre-visit chart preparation
• Ensure compliance with treatment plans
• Perform various clerical functions such as scanning, triaging calls, and ensuring efficient patient flow

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Certified Medical Assistant or 6 months of experience preferred
• 1+ year(s) of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Effective teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to interpret instructions and follow them accurately
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Athena EHR application preferred

Schedule

Monday-Wednesday: 7:45am-4:15pm

Pay

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
