Medical Assistant
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant role requires one year of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting and a Medical Assistant certification. Candidates who have completed a Medical Assisting training program within the last 12 months must obtain certification within 60 days of employment. Those with one year of experience but without certification must obtain it within one year of hire.
What You Will Do
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
- Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians with minor surgeries and physicals
- Answer telephone calls and screen for referrals
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
