Job Description
The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.
Schedule
40 hours per week Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and documents all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post op wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and suture removal
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Aiding the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light
Qualifications
- Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).
- 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
- Maintain current state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment
- Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Organizational and communication skills
- Effective and cooperative working ability with staff, clients, and visitors
- Multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working well individually and as part of a team
