About the role
The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical tasks such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect specimens
- Perform diagnostic screening tests, sterilize and clean equipment, and maintain examination rooms
- Document information into the electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
- Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows
- Exercise judgment in interpreting and adapting procedures, processes, and techniques
- Contribute to process improvement, deliver in-depth education, and provide advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants
Requirements
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Phlebotomy experience
- Medication/vaccine administration experience
- 1+ years Medical Assistant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified
- This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected, you will be required to be screened for TB.
Preferred qualifications
- 1+ years MA experience in PCO center
- Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Pay
$44,900 - $60,200 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
