Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities

  • Completes clinical intake requirements, measuring and recording patient-specific information.
  • Administers immunizations under provider direction, providing Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) and updating OSIIS.
  • Captures patient specimens according to established protocols.
  • Fulfills clinical policies, procedures, and standards to ensure patient safety and efficient clinic flow.
  • Utilizes the EMR to complete tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Uses standard medical terminology and medication references as needed.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail for accurate documentation, specimen handling, and task completion.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, providers, and team members through various forms of communication.
  • Accepts feedback and incorporates coaching to enhance performance and consistency.
  • Identifies and addresses patient concerns or issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Engages in respectful, patient-centered interactions valuing patient perspectives.
  • Maintains flexibility to float within the clinic for business continuity.
  • Serves as a liaison with rural clinic staff for clinic-to-clinic visits.
  • Assists in troubleshooting pharmacy and Epic/EPIC scheduling concerns.
  • Ensures timely completion of screening tools and paperwork.
  • Administers long-acting injections.
  • Supports Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
  • Works collaboratively with staff to achieve the goals of the "Quintuple Aim" of healthcare reform.
  • Embraces personal character strengths, demonstrating openness, honesty, integrity, adaptability, and sound judgment.
  • Behaves as a leader in the department and community.
  • Displays result-oriented problem-solving skills and responsibility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completed and passed a CPR course within 90 days of employment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including data entry and typing.
  • Possesses knowledge of instrumentation used in lab point-of-care testing, acquired within 90 days.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information in accordance with HIPAA and Variety Care policy.
  • Effective communication skills with the patient population.
  • Ability to work in a multi-faceted, fast-paced work environment.
