Media Production Engineer

About the role

Provides operation, maintenance, and support of audio-video, analog and digital production equipment, TV studio cable distribution systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, sets up, operates and calibrates analog and digital audio and video equipment, including Macintosh and PC computerized equipment.
• Diagnostics and repairs equipment failures and troubleshoots system-wide problems.
• Evaluates and proposes replacement equipment, configurations and modifications as needed.
• Provides technical support and training to faculty, staff and students.
• Manages student editing and equipment labs, and equipment checkout facility.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level.
• Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required.
• Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
