About the Role

Support the Media Prep and Lab Services department by working effectively within the group to meet department goals, objectives, and tasks to achieve desired results. The role requires driving a company vehicle to pick up and deliver glassware around the campus, so a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Produce microbiological media, cell culture media, various solutions, buffers, clean glassware, and prepared equipment for use throughout R&D groups.
  • Ensure distribution satellites are maintained with required inventory levels utilizing FIFO (First In-First Out).
  • Update labware deliveries on the request system daily and complete assigned support tasks on time.
  • Clean, sterilize, prepare, and distribute glassware and equipment.
  • Prepare stock such as reagents, buffers, microbiological, tissue culture, and custom media as needed.
  • Operate process equipment, including autoclaves, washers, ovens, tanks, and benchtop instruments.
  • Provide routine updates to supervisors/leads on progress, status, and issues associated with labware delivery and stock inventory.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and 5S as assigned.
  • Adjust to schedule changes, work overtime as necessary, and float between groups to support operations.
  • Ensure all work is completed by the end of the day and utilize time wisely to maximize productivity.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and lab staff, communicating clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet timeline commitments and inform others of status, issues, and customer requests as necessary.
  • Adhere to SOPs, cGMPs, safety guidelines, and other established procedures.
  • Complete training records in a timely manner.
  • Be punctual and adhere to appropriate laws, GNE regulations, and GMP documentation procedures.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in one of the life sciences or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in media prep and glassware operations or a related operational environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Non-slip, steel-toe boots are required by the start date (boot purchase will be reimbursed).
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel).

Schedule

This is a 5-day onsite role, Monday through Friday.

  • Training: May last a couple of months, with flexibility required (potential early start during training).
  • Hours (through end of 2026): 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • Hours (starting 2027): Swing shift, 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM.

This position may support up to 2 openings.
