Media and Public Relations Strategist
About the role
At Gradient Financial Group, you’ll play a key role in elevating how our brand, initiatives, and partners are positioned and experienced across media and public channels.
Responsibilities
- Lead media and public relations strategy to elevate brand visibility across earned, owned, and shared channels
- Develop and execute communication plans that position key initiatives, leaders, and partners in a compelling and newsworthy way
- Serve as a primary voice for brand storytelling, ensuring consistency across media, content, and public-facing communications
- Identify and secure media opportunities, including TV segments, interviews, features, and speaking engagements
- Partner with internal marketing, PR, and content teams to amplify campaigns and initiatives across digital, social, and broadcast channels
- Shape messaging frameworks that align brand positioning with business goals and audience engagement
- Create press materials, including press releases, media pitches, talking points, and executive communications
- Guide Financial Services Professionals in leveraging media opportunities and enhancing their public presence
- Ensure all communications align with brand standards, compliance requirements, and industry regulations
- Manage and grow Gradient Gives Back (GGB), our signature philanthropic program
- Oversee the planning and execution of GGB “reveal” events, ensuring they are well-run, story-driven, and brand-aligned
Requirements
Experience in public relations, media strategy, communications, or brand marketing
Proven ability to develop and place stories across media channels (broadcast, digital, print, social)
Strong storytelling and writing skills, with experience crafting messaging for diverse audiences
Confidence working with senior leadership and preparing individuals for media and public appearances
Experience collaborating across marketing, PR, content, and digital teams
Strong understanding of brand positioning, audience engagement, and reputation management
