Medi-Car Driver

Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate adequate levels of skill in all areas required of a Medi-Car Driver, including the ability to move a wheelchair up and down stairs, in and out of the Medi-Car.
• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a Medi-Car Driver.
• Provide safe transportation, including accurately discerning street names through map reading, correctly distinguishing house numbers and addresses of business locations, and navigating in the most expedient manner.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, monitor all fluid levels and gauges, and report all mechanical problems with the vehicle immediately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must have successfully passed the Company's required lifting test, Map test, and interview process.
• Functional communication and writing in the English language.
• Possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.

Pay

USD $17.00 - USD $21.00 per hour. Rates offered based on years of experience and full-time scheduled templates.
