Med Technologist - Weekends

About the Role

The Med Technologist performs laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure accurate patient results. They may assume charge technologist duties, train new staff, and act as a preceptor for students. The position involves operating laboratory information systems, managing supplies, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance and results
• Perform tasks specific to the department with minimal supervision
• Support quality management and performance improvement initiatives
• Train and mentor new employees and students
• Operate laboratory software and instruments efficiently
• Occasionally perform phlebotomy duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
• One-year clinical internship in a NAACLS-accredited lab or approved pathway
• Certification as MLS or MT by ASCP, AMT, or AAB, or eligibility to take the exam within six months
• Mandatory child and adult abuse training within three months of hire
