Med Tech/Lab Scientist - Part-Time Evening

Role Overview

Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests, maintains equipment, and troubleshoots issues. Evaluates results and quality control data, serving as a resource and educator for new staff and students. Assists in evaluating new test procedures and demonstrates knowledge of patient growth and development, tailoring care to age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical proficiency in laboratory tasks.
• Performs maintenance and quality control.
• Identifies areas for improvement and supports resource organization.
• Monitors training progress, recommends additional training, and helps maintain cleanliness and supply management.
• Plans and prioritizes tasks to ensure productive and independent work while maintaining positive performance under diverse conditions.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidates with an associate degree in a relevant science field and eligibility as a medical technologist are considered.
• Effective communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Competencies include clear communication, confidentiality, crisis management, customer service, and experience with electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant science field (bachelor’s preferred).
• Preferred credentials include ASCP-MT or MLT certification.
