About the role
The Med Tech/Caregiver at The Carnegie meets the needs of community residents by assisting with activities of daily living, promoting independence, and ensuring residents' overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ well-being and report any changes to appropriate associates/departments immediately
- Assist residents with simple requests and find associates to assist as needed
- Learn and implement resident preferences for customer service and satisfaction
- Supervise or assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, ambulation, and other activities of daily living
- Provide companionship and develop strong resident relations
- Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures
- Help residents with assistive devices and encourage self-care
- Document care provided consistently with standards
- Provide input to the Care Services Director and/or Resident Care Coordinator/Dementia Care Coordinator
- Review and update resident individual service plans
- Monitor residents to document status and maintain confidentiality
- Support the Customer Service desk and answer calls according to company policy
- Participate in resident-centered wellness programs and special events
- Assist residents in meeting social needs and interact with staff, family, and other residents
- Maintain community common areas and residents’ rooms
- Assist with resident laundry as assigned
- Communicate openly and honestly with and among associates
- Work as part of the team and support continuous improvement
- Adhere to all regulations, laws, and company standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Nursing assistant course
- First Aid certification and CPR, if required
- State training requirements and/or certifications for Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)
- Basic competency in using multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications and internet-based applications
- Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
