About the role

This role involves planning, delivering, documenting, and evaluating nursing care for correctional health patients based on individual needs and provider orders, adhering to recognized nursing standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assess patient conditions
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and patient responses
• Supervise assigned nursing personnel

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Current RN licensure in Ohio
• Basic Life Support certification

Skills

• Strong knowledge of nursing theory
• Medical asepsis
• Equipment handling
• Positive team relations

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Correctional health care experience
• Certification as a Corrections Nurse (CCN) or Correctional Health Professional (CCHP)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and pushing loads
• Exposure to communicable diseases and chemicals
