About the role
Provides, plans, documents, and evaluates nursing care for correctional patients, ensuring individualized treatment aligned with provider orders and recognized nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing staff
- Observes and reports patient conditions
- Maintains accurate documentation of care
- Upholds organizational values and customer service standards
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Ohio RN license
- Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within 90 days
- Knowledge of nursing theory, medical asepsis, and equipment care
- Excellent interpersonal and physical coordination skills
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Correctional health care experience
- Certification such as CCN or CCHP
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk
- Lift up to 300 pounds with assistance
- Push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance
- May have exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals
