Med/Surg Department Leader-Clarion

Primary Responsibilities

• Involves and empowers staff to meet strategic, department and individual performance goals through coaching and mentoring staff and collaborates effectively with other leaders and departments to ensure continuity of care and processes between Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics.
• Remains competent in providing bedside nursing cares.
• Has an active presence on Belmond Med/Surg campus routinely and as needed.
• Works cohesively with Belmond Med/Surg Department Leader and staff to ensure appropriate allocation of resources, consistent processes between facilities, and to build relationships in both locations.
• Analyzes and understands rules and regulations as they apply to Iowa Specialty Hospital operations and participates in annual accreditation surveys.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• 3-5 years of experience in leadership preferred, but will train the ideal candidate
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AVADE certifications required (Or obtained within 6 months from hire)
• Active current Iowa Registered Nursing License required, BSN or MSN preferred
