About the role

This is a part-time position for 24-32 hours per week. The Med-Psych Provider is a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) licensed in both General Adult Psychiatry and a Primary Care specialty (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) in the State of Ohio. The role provides integrated psychiatric and primary care services within Crossroads Health's Integrated Health Center and School-Based Health Center programs, expanding integrated healthcare services as part of the organization's strategic priority of becoming a full FQHC.

The position is responsible for comprehensive, whole-person care including psychiatric assessment, medication management, primary medical care, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, referrals, and care coordination across the lifespan. The provider works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team and applies trauma-informed, patient-centered practices in all aspects of service delivery. The Med-Psych Provider also serves as the supervising physician and clinical support for Physician Assistant(s) and/or Nurse Practitioner(s) providing primary care services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed psychiatric and medical assessment, diagnostic evaluation, medication evaluation, and medication management services.
  • Serve as the supervising and collaborating physician for Physician Assistant(s) and/or Nurse Practitioner(s) providing primary care services at the Integrated Health Center and School-Based Health Center.
  • Provide accurate, concise, concurrent, and timely documentation in the electronic health record, including psychiatric evaluations, medical assessments, follow-up notes, treatment plans, medication records, and related care coordination documentation.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, school personnel, community partners, treatment teams, care coordinators, and specialty providers to improve access, engagement, and continuity of care.
  • Maintain licensure, board certification (if applicable), continuing medical education, and credentialing requirements.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Experience providing psychiatric services and behavioral health treatment.
  • Experience providing primary care services.
  • Experience in integrated healthcare, FQHC/FQHC Look-Alike, community health, or school-based health settings preferred.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Current unrestricted State of Ohio licensure as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD).
  • Dual certification in General Adult Psychiatry and a Primary Care specialty (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine).
  • Current DEA Registration and Ohio Controlled Substance Registration.
  • Medicare Provider Number and ability to credential with applicable payers.

Schedule

Part-time, 24-32 hours per week.
