Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the East Texas community for nearly 50 years with a focus on caring for patients and a strong team environment. Service lines at the hospital include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (including a cath lab and electrophysiology capabilities), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatments) and weight loss surgery. These services help the medical center provide treatment options close to home for patients.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient specimens.
• Performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, body fluids, feces.
• Reports test results according to prescribed laboratory policies and procedures.
• Supervises and operates the laboratory if requested by the laboratory manager.
• Performs any other task necessary to maintain proper functioning of the department and hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or an Associate Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent education/clinical work experience.
• Experience: Previous experience as a medical technologist/technician preferred. Clinical rotation experience will be considered for students who have pending graduation date.
• Certifications: Certification by the Board of Registry (ASCP), NCA, AMT or certification accepted by the STATE DOH as an MT/MLT required.
