Responsibilities
- Wiring and labeling control panels
- Follow electrical schematics and follow bill of materials
- Mount and wire controllers, motors, VFDS, relays, motor starters, circuit-breakers panels, indicator lights, disconnects, and switches into enclosures using; screws, bolts, and hand/power tools.
- Test continuity of the circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as an ohmmeter, and/or megger.
- Running tests on equipment
- Troubleshoot problems
- Work with AC & DC drives, electrical component analysis, use of electrical meters and oscilloscopes, and basic mechanical repair.
- Work on AC and DC systems up to 600 volts
- Program motors & VFDs
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Skills & Qualifications
- High school degree with 1-5 years of experience, or a 2-year Technical College degree in related field
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Knowledge and application of basis 110–480-volt electrical theory, AC/DC systems, electrical wiring concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Works under immediate supervision
