About the role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician you will support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, etc.
• Maintain a positive working relationship across the Amazon Operations facility.
• Perform physical tasks including moving up to 49 lb, standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours, climbing ladders and gangways, and regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.

Basic qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
• 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, or certification from Amazon’s Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program.
• 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 2+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years of experience demonstrating safety standards.
• 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles.
• Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical or electrical apprenticeship experience.

Pay

Starting pay is $29.35 – $29.95 USD hourly, consisting of a base rate plus the highest available shift differential for the selected shift. Additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay.

Schedule

Flexible schedule/shift work, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Shifts can last up to 12 hours.
