Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and automated test cases for complex mechatronic systems across laboratory and field environments, ensuring system functionality and performance.
  • Perform end-to-end validation of integrated mechanical, electrical, and embedded software components.
  • Develop detailed test plans, test strategies, procedures, and validation protocols for system-level testing activities.
  • Conduct component integration testing and verify interactions between hardware, electronics, firmware, and embedded systems.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues by analyzing mechanical, electrical, and software components to identify root causes.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and failures, collaborating with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Document test results, maintain test reports, and ensure accurate tracking of validation activities and system performance metrics.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using test management and bug-tracking tools while supporting issue resolution workflows.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), field validation, and performance testing to ensure product readiness.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, defect reviews, and daily stand-ups, while supporting test setup and teardown activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and systems engineering teams to improve product quality.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers, contribute to QA process improvements, and support field testing initiatives requiring up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, preferably in a mechatronics or embedded systems environment.
  • Experience with test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software principles and their interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in test management and bug-tracking tools.
  • Ability to perform both lab-based and field-based testing.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
