About the role

Leading the hardware team at Anyware Robotics, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design the next generation hardware for the Pixmo robot. You will also instruct technicians/lab workers to optimize workload, analyze and optimize mechanical designs, document design iterations, troubleshoot issues, and develop targeted solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the hardware team to brainstorm and fast-pace prototype new ideas and concepts.
  • Support the assembly, testing, and validation of robotic prototypes and products.
  • Instruct technicians/lab workers to optimize workload.
  • Support the analysis and optimization of mechanical designs for performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
  • Document design iterations, test results, and project progress.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues of the robotics system.
  • Develop and implement targeted solutions to reduce potential failures in future.
  • Consistently demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship in all engineering projects, ensuring that every design, part, and assembly is completed to exact specifications.
  • Share your knowledge and skills with your teammates, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and shop equipment, including 3D printers, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Mentality for fast prototyping and testing.
  • Previous experience of mechanical design, drawings (SolidWorks), GD&T, building and integration of robotic platforms.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet-metal, weldment, machining.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Open for regular short onsite visits and for extended onsite visits during feature delivery.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with robot manipulation.
  • Gripper design and/or development experience.
  • Mobile base design and/or development experience.
  • Prior involvement in heavy-duty robotics platforms or applications.
