About the Role
Engineer mechanical utilities for behind-the-meter plants: fuel gas, water, compressed air, and balance-of-plant systems. Design the balance of plant generation depends on: sized, routed, and specified for fast build and long life. Integrate utilities across the campus: generation, data center, and site systems as one mechanical design. Own vendor and EPC interfaces for utility scope: packages reviewed, gaps caught, field questions answered.
Responsibilities
- Engineer mechanical utilities for behind-the-meter plants (fuel gas, water, compressed air, and balance-of-plant systems).
- Design balance-of-plant systems that generation depends on, ensuring they are sized, routed, and specified for fast build and long life.
- Integrate utilities across the campus, including generation, data center, and site systems as one cohesive mechanical design.
- Own vendor and EPC interfaces for utility scope: review packages, identify gaps, and answer field questions.
Requirements
- Experience engineering balance-of-plant or utility systems for power generation or heavy industry.
- Experience designing fuel gas systems and knowledge of the governing codes.
- Experience integrating packaged equipment into functioning plants.
- Ability to identify interface gaps on paper, including tie-ins, capacities, and controls.
- Critical review of EPC packages.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Gas turbine or reciprocating plant balance-of-plant experience.
- Depth in NFPA 54 and 56.
- Experience with water systems.
- Experience with compressed air and nitrogen systems.
Pay
Compensation Range: $169K - $208K
