Position Overview
The Mechanical (HVAC) Trade Instructor develops and delivers training that prepares employees for safe, efficient, and code-compliant work in the field. This role facilitates classroom instruction, hands-on lab training, and on-the-job learning aligned with company standards, safety requirements, and real job-site conditions. This position supports workforce development by strengthening technical knowledge, reinforcing safety practices, and ensuring consistency across mechanical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate mechanical and HVAC training content
Deliver instruction aligned with mechanical codes and company standards
Conduct hands-on lab training using real-world systems and scenarios
Support on-the-job training alongside foremen and supervisors
Assess trainee skills and provide performance feedback
Reinforce safety practices and quality workmanship
Maintain training documentation and support LMS tracking
Support continuous improvement of training programs

Requirements
HVAC or Mechanical certification or license (as applicable)
Minimum 5+ years of field experience in commercial or industrial mechanical/HVAC work
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and safety requirements
Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and system operation
Desirable Skills & Experience
Teaching, mentoring, or training experience
Computer skills (email, LMS platforms, presentations)
Ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
Strong initiative and organizational skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Experience supporting apprentices or junior technicians
