About the role

Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a global Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) business.

Salary: $20–$25/hr, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret internal and client requirements
  • Supervise allocated staff and manage the day-to-day operations of the relevant discipline
  • Operate complex mechanical testing equipment
  • Maintain accurate and systematic records
  • Perform other duties to meet laboratory demands
  • Carry out general duties in accordance with Element’s internal procedures, quality, and Health & Safety systems
  • Apply instrumentation and set up complex data capture equipment
  • Prepare reports, interpret data, and conduct analysis

Requirements

  • Educated to a good general standard, including English and Maths
  • Degree-level or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant materials-related discipline
  • Hands-on mechanical experience
  • Previous experience in an engineering environment is advantageous
  • Experience working in a mechanical testing environment is beneficial
  • Understanding of recognized Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 17025) is a plus
