Mechanical Technician I - 1st Shift

About the role

The Mechanical Technician I position is available for a 1st shift at Entegris in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role involves assembling various sub-assemblies to engineering specifications and assisting with cable and conduit routing on Ultra High Purity Systems.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand customer data sheets (CDS) requirements
• Work from instructions, drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, illustrations, and process documentation to assemble mechanical, electrical subassemblies and systems with supervision
• Follow verbal instructions
• Build sub-assemblies with supervision
• Learn cabinet preparation by installing bracketing, piping insulation, and sub-assemblies with supervision
• Learn engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner
• Perform routine, repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner
• Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety)
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments
• Work safely and recognize the safety of others
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance
• Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards
• Work with a team as well as independently when needed
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years’ experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience
• Ability to learn to navigate through operating system to find BOMs, drawings and instructions
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily
• Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
• Ability to learn how handle material responsibly
• Dependability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years’ experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience
