About the role
The role of Mechanical Technician, Goldsmith/James Lake Field involves performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment.
Responsibilities
- Performing maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary)
- Leading or performing overhaul of compressors and engines/engine swings, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup
- Ensuring the safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines
- Complying with company policies, procedures and directives
- Performing required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Identifying maintenance work and initiating work requests using Maintenance Programs such as Maximo and SAP
- Driving a company owned vehicle within assigned area
- Training less experienced employees and overseeing the work of contract personnel
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems with Plant and Field units
- Providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance
- Maintain all required operations and safety training including required Operator Qualifications for DOT covered tasks
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- 1 or more years of experience in engine and compressor maintenance
- Willing and able to reside and respond to a call out within 1 hour of the assigned work location
- Willing and able to perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:
- Climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to perform maintenance on equipment as part of this position
- Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
- Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Work alone a high percentage of the time
- Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime on an as-needed basis
- Work a rotating on call schedule for your assigned area
- Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe boots, ear, head, and eye protection
Qualifications
- 1 or more years maintenance/mechanical experience in oil and gas or related industry
- 3 or more years direct experience with reading troubleshooting manuals and drawings
- 3 or more years of direct experience with Caterpillar 3500/3600 and Waukesha VHP engine maintenance and overhaul
- 3 or more years of direct experience with Ariel, Joy, and Superior compressor maintenance and overhaul
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and available maintenance programs (including, but not limited to Maximo and SAP)
- A sound knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA, Process Safety

Pay
This position has a base salary range of $81,000 – $123,200.
Schedule
Work is scheduled or unscheduled overtime on an as-needed basis.
