Responsibilities
- Performs disassembly, repair, overhaul, and refurbishment of fuel cell power generating equipment and associated system components while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Performs mechanical and electrical testing and analysis of power generating equipment using proper tools for maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired products.
- Performs diagnostics on mechanical hardware and software using established procedures.
- Prepares and maintains documentation such as inventory of parts, cost reduction efforts, equipment maintenance, and other records.
- Communicates effectively both internally and externally as authorized regarding technical issues and product repairs.
Qualifications
- Education: A.S. degree or trade school certificate in electronics, engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related area is preferred; a high school diploma and 5 years of applicable experience may be substituted.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with industrial equipment (large power generating equipment a plus). Must be willing to travel in the future up to 50% of the time, domestically and internationally, including Asia. May be required to travel for six consecutive weeks at a time, 3 times a year.
- Ideal candidate must have: A commitment to working safely and a desire to produce quality work. Basic mechanical skills and experience with most hand tools, portable power tools and test equipment (multi-meter / thermocouple reader). Experience with material handling equipment is a plus. Be able to read engineering blueprints and follow written and verbal work instructions. Possess good verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment. Computer skills, including the use of MS-Word, Excel, and Outlook. Be a self-starter and an ambitious person who can work with minimal direct supervision. Welding, fabrication and Fork Truck experience and/or license a plus. Electrical or instrumentation background a plus. QC or measurement experience a plus.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to remain on feet and move from area to area within the Plant on concrete floor for 8-10 hours per day without assistance.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling and placement of manufactured parts on a repeated basis that have a weight of at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs with assisted lifting devices.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks with a full range of motion with both hands/arms. Motions include circular, up and down, back and forth, side-to-side, and overhead.
- Must be able to routinely climb a ladder to a height of 15 feet above the ground and on a non-routine basis work in a man lift up to 20 feet above the ground with proper fall protection equipment.
- Must be physically fit to qualify for and able to wear a respirator throughout the course of employment.
- Be able and willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, respirators, and other PPE as required.
- Must be willing to work periods of rotating shifts, typically 10 hours in duration, during critical work cycles. Expected 2-3 weeks in duration and 2-3 times in frequency per year.
- Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, domestically and internationally, including Asia. May be required to travel for six consecutive weeks at a time, 3 times a year.
- Currently have an unexpired US Passport or be able to successfully obtain and maintain a US Passport immediately upon hire.
