Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance including adding oil to engine, adding sand and water to engine, lubricating all hinges, replacing worn DC electric motor brushes within locomotive, changing all filters, adding traction motor grease to motors, and removing dirt from electrical cabinets.
- Perform rail car repairs.
- Operate power and hydraulic tools.
- Operate service crane.
- Perform welding and oxygen/acetylene torching.
- Maintain assigned vehicle.
- Perform general repairs of other equipment as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Observe operating and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in welding preferred.
- Experience in rail car repair preferred.
