Mechanical Systems Technician (Phoenix, AZ) - Austin Industrial

Responsibilities

• Analyze, plan, and perform preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in an industrial environment.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on all systems.
• Diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, refrigeration units, and industrial plumbing systems.
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
• Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Work with mechanical and electrical components.
• Read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools specific to the plumbing trade.
• Follow building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
• Complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• HVAC/EPA certifications beneficial.
• 2+ years' experience as a journeyman plumber.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).

Skills

• Proficiency in reading schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
• Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper piping.
• Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements.
