Mechanical Surveyor

About the role

J.F. Sobieski Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is a $100-million mechanical contracting company serving Delaware, Southeastern PA, Cecil County, Virginia, and Maryland markets. They are the largest mechanical contractor in the tri-state area and focus on commercial installations of HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and fire protection.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of scanning and layout tasks associated with commercial mechanical projects.
• Work with surface and alignment files, and review plans.
• Coordinate layout activities with design or field personnel.
• Work safely to minimize risk of injury or property damage.
• Establish strong relationships within the Sobieski teams, General Contractor, and other contractors to promote a Win/Win environment.
• Deliver backend support while contributing to a winning team.

Requirements

• A degree in construction or engineering, preferably an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• OSHA 30 certificate.
• Construction Quality Control for Contractor certification preferred.
• USACE CQM-C certification preferred.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft based systems (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and other relevant software programs.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
