Join Hanwha Qcells USA Corp and support the build of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. This is an evergreen posting for current and future project needs across our solar and BESS EPC portfolio. 100% nationwide travel is required; you will relocate to project sites for 8–12 months at a time. This is a fully on-site, field-based role.

About the role

Mechanical Superintendents are placed on project sites for the duration of the build (typically 8–12 months) and then transition to the next project. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm local time or as established by the site. Overtime and weekend work will be required as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Crew oversight and management
  • Create and maintain project schedule and 3-week look-ahead
  • Acquire and sustain all necessary permits and ensure rigorous adherence to project specifications
  • Outline completed portions of the past week that meet or exceed project schedule
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure construction teams have the materials they need
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and vendors
  • Lead safety efforts (inspections, toolbox talks, JHAs)
  • Manage subcontractor performance and field execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting utility-scale or commercial construction projects
  • 2+ years of experience in a Mechanical Superintendent or Construction Management role
  • Experience with solar PV mechanical systems, racking, and installation methods
  • Experience managing subcontractors, crews, and field operations
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Procore preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and relocate full-time (100% nationwide)

Physical Demands

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
  • Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials; assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
