Mechanical Superintendent - Charlotte, NC

About the Role

The Mechanical Superintendent provides on-site technical and administrative management of mechanical construction project activities, reporting to the Mechanical Division Manager, Project Executive, Project Manager, or General Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operations on the assigned construction site, ensuring planning, scheduling, organization, coordination, direction, and control of all assigned field personnel to support profit and growth objectives.
• Support hiring, training, and retention of field personnel.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control of prefabricated and installed construction work to ensure compliance with scope of work and code requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager with execution and management of project objectives.
• Serve as the point of contact with clients and uphold positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Ensure the general safety of all team members and subcontractors by adhering to, enforcing, and promoting workplace safety procedures outlined in the Safety Handbook.
• Adhere to all company and site-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction methods, troubleshooting, resource management, administration, and trade coordination.
• Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and communicate information from blueprints, models, and specifications.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in mechanical construction.
• Current on the latest mechanical trade codes, OSHA, and state safety regulations.
• All applicable licenses and training necessary to perform assigned duties on the jobsite.
• Knowledge of job cost reporting, manpower projections, and estimating.

Working Conditions

• Able and willing to work in cold and hot temperature conditions.
• Willing and able to travel to assigned jobsite locations.
• Able and willing to work atypical schedules, including nights and weekends, to complete assigned construction projects.

Tools Used

• Sheet metal hand tools, double cuts, drills, brakes, shears, skillsaws, concrete saws, band saws, torches, welders, lockforming machines, recovery machines, refrigerant gauges.
• Ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other machines and equipment used in the HVAC trade.

Protective Equipment

• Safety glasses, safety-toe rated shoes, hard hat, verified appropriate gloves for task, hearing protection, safety harness, ground fault protection, and other equipment as required.
